Student-led · Skin cancer prevention · South Florida
Know your skin. Protect your future.
Teen Skin Lab is a student-led skin cancer prevention program. We bring free sun-safety workshops and sunscreen access to South Florida schools and teams — and turn dermatology research into clear, everyday steps.
Our mission
Sun damage adds up.
So do good habits.
Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the U.S. — and one of the most preventable. In South Florida, strong UV is a year-round reality for teens at practice, PE, the beach, and the pool. We're working to make sun protection a normal habit before damage adds up.

How the lab works
Make protection
a habit.
Shade, clothing, a hat, and broad-spectrum, water-resistant SPF 30+ on exposed skin. Small routines, every day — not just at the beach.
Sun safety →Know what
to look for.
Learn the ABCDEs and the "ugly duckling" sign so you can spot a spot that's new, changing, or different from the rest.
Know the signs →Speak up
early.
If something on your skin worries you, tell a trusted adult and see a healthcare professional. Asking early is always the right call.
Why we do this →What we do
Four programs.
One mission.
Information is a start. Real prevention happens in classrooms, on practice fields, and at the pool.
Sun-Smart Workshops
Free 30-minute, game-based sessions for middle schools, camps, and sports teams — taught by teens.
Request one →Sun-Safe Stations
Free sunscreen dispensers at school fields and community pools, so protection is there when it's needed.
Sponsor a station →Sun Habits Survey
A quick anonymous survey before and after our workshops, so we know whether habits actually change.
See our impact →Teen Skin Lab Club
Student volunteers who lead workshops and keep the stations stocked — built to keep going year after year.
